What do glasses, Snowdon, and Arnold Schwarzenegger have in common?

… Obviously, vision … Right?

Ok, this is going to need a bit of explanation. First off, this month I was blessed with the fact that I now need glasses to help me with reading. It’s not a big deal, but it’s a life change. Secondly, I climbed Snowdon (the largest mountain in Wales) this month and, boy, was there an amazing view! Lastly, I stumbled across a motivational speech by Arnie on YouTube and 10 minutes later, I was thinking, “I need to finish writing down my Vision Statement.”

You see, I know I’m called to the Youth of Great Britain, but lately I’ve been feeling more convinced that I’m to commit myself specifically to North Wales.

At the beginning of the year, I started writing a Vision Document for Finches4UK, but then like many things it faded to the background. Then, along came June/July: I need glasses, Ethan turns 3, I take Seth up Snowdon, someone is baptized in the Sea, and then randomly the Arnie video and I’m like…wow…it’s starting to come together! I’ll be honest, I’m sure some bits will still need ironing out BUT, by and large, here is the vision I believe God has given me for the next 20 years, maybe even the rest of my life.

With that as a backdrop, let me tell you some quick stories from this past month:

Celebrating 10 years of Llandudno Youth for Christ

Llandudno Youth for Christ celebrated their 10th year as a Centre in Llandudno. This is amazing! It has been really exciting to be part of their team for the last 2 years and now to be dreaming with them and working towards expanding the work in North Wales.

Regional Finalist in Youth and Children’s work

Llandudno Youth for Christ has been nationally recognized and short-listed for a national award by Premier Christian Radio. As a result, I got to attend a pre-liminary event in Cardiff to see if LLYFC would qualify at a regional level (all of Wales). And we did!  Premier selected us, qualifying us for a possible national award this October!

Ethan and Lydia at the Park

Ethan turned 3 years old! This little boy melts our hearts and is growing so fast!

Me and Seth at the top of Snowdon

We had an amazing time with Seth visiting us all the way from Texas. It was great to be able to bring him along with me to schools and youth clubs. He was super helpful and it would be amazing to have him back again! One of the memorable things we were able to do was climb Mt. Snowdon (1085m). From the top it was inspiring to see much of North Wales and to dream about future of ministry here.

Baptism in the Sea

Lastly, on Sunday, our church baptised someone in the sea. It was so inspiring to be out in the public, with beach-goers and onlookers turning heads, to see someone publicize their faith in Christ! It caused me to envision a future, not too far away, where we will be baptising groups of young people in the sea… Yes Lord! May it be so!

Here’s a quick video I put together of some special moments from June / July 2019

Thank you for your prayers and support!
